Privacy Policy

Welcome to Lunebi. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Lunebi mobile application and related services.

1. Our Core Principle: You Control Your Voice

Lunebi is a tool for parents. We process your voice to generate bedtime stories for your children. We treat your voice data as highly sensitive biometric information.

  • You own your voice.
  • You can permanently delete your voice data from our servers at any time.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our service, we collect the following types of information:

  • Name: Your name is collected at account setup and used to personalize your experience (e.g., addressing you within the app and customizing story content).
  • Email Address: When you sign up using Apple or Google Sign-In (via Firebase Auth), we collect your email address for account management, app functionality, and analytics.
  • User ID: A unique identifier is assigned to your account and used for app functionality and analytics.
  • Device ID: Your device identifier is collected for app functionality and analytics (e.g., linking sessions and providing consistent experiences across app relaunches).
  • Photos or Videos: If you choose to upload a profile photo or image content related to a story, that image is collected and used for app functionality and product personalization. This data is linked to your identity.
  • Audio Data (Biometric Information): When you use the voice cloning feature, you must explicitly consent to record your voice. We collect this raw audio recording (.wav) and create a mathematical representation (embedding) of your voice characteristics. Used for app functionality and product personalization.
  • Usage Data: We store your reading preferences, favorites, and playback history to provide features like the "Continue Reading" prompt.
  • Purchase Information: Subscription and purchase data is handled securely by Stripe or your device's app store (Apple/Google). We record purchase status for app functionality and analytics. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
  • Crash Data (Diagnostics): We collect crash reports and diagnostic data to identify and fix issues, improve app stability, and analyze app functionality.

3. How We Store and Process Your Voice

Your voice data is secured and processed using strict controls designed to minimize retention and exposure.

  • The Secure Vault: Your raw voice recording is uploaded directly to a secure, private cloud storage bucket (AWS S3 or equivalent). It is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (SSE-KMS/AES-256). We retain this file while your account is active. If you delete your voice profile, delete your account, or if your account remains completely inactive for a period of 3 years, we will automatically execute a hard delete of your biometric data from our servers.
  • Voice Processing (Zero-Retention GPU): To generate a story, our API sends a temporary, securely signed link of your voice recording to an isolated GPU worker (RunPod). The GPU generates the story audio (using the Qwen3-TTS model) and immediately wipes its memory. Your voice data is never permanently stored on the processing GPUs.
  • No AI Training: We strictly use your voice data for inference (generating your stories) only. We do not use your voice recordings or embeddings to train, retrain, or improve our foundational AI models, nor do we share them with third parties for their training purposes.

4. Data Sharing and Sub-processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with essential third-party service providers (Sub-processors) required to operate Lunebi:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Secure cloud hosting and database storage.
  • RunPod: GPU processing for AI voice synthesis.
  • Google (Firebase): User authentication, identity management, and crash/diagnostic reporting.
  • Stripe: Secure payment processing.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Depending on your location (including under GDPR and CCPA), you have rights regarding your data:

  • Right to Erasure (Hard Delete): You can delete your voice profile directly within the app. Triggering a deletion executes a "hard delete," permanently purging your raw audio file from our storage vault and removing your voice embeddings from our database.
  • Right to Access/Portability: You can request an export of your account data (favorites, usage, and consent records) via the app settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Lunebi is designed for parents to use with their children.

  • The App is not intended to be set up or managed by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region).
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
  • The account holder must be an adult.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

  • If we make material changes, particularly regarding how we handle your voice data, we will notify you within the App or via email before the changes take effect.
